Why I hate the word sale
I hate the word sale…… I just hate it. And the reasons are fairly simple:
- Things always seem to go "on sale" after I buy them. A day or 2 after a purchase that same merchant has it for a lower "on sale" price. I feel like I instantly lost money. Maybe I’m just unlucky?
- "On Sale" tells me they could have sold it to me at a lower price to begin with and we could have skipped the "will they have a Labor Day/Memorial Day/4th of July/after-Christmas/Black Friday sale" second guessing and waiting. When I want a product, I’d like to just buy it and have it in my hands as soon as possible. I don’t want to wait for a sale.
Maybe I’m just simple minded. I merely want to feel comfortable in my purchase, I do not want to feel "ripped off" 3 days or a week later when I see it for less. A 70% off sale just tells me that their normal price has an astronomical markup as they must be making money at 70% off, so they were making a huge amount of money at the regular price.
So at Gourmet-Delights.com the driving force behind our pricing is to have the LOWEST delivered price EVERY SINGLE DAY. I shop all my competitors weekly, if not more often. And I have yet to find them undercutting my prices. I price things reasonably, and keep them there. You can have the confidence that when you buy from Gourmet-Delights.com you are getting the lowest price. You can buy today, next week, or next month without needing to wait for "a sale", and most importantly not seeing it "on sale" tomorrow and feeling you got ripped off.
I also want you to buy when you want and need it. No waiting for a sale. And I want you to buy in "reasonable quantities". No one wants 6 bottles of Extra Virgin Olive Oil sitting around because it was "on sale" this week. They can go bad if stored too long. Buy what you can comfortably use in a month or 2 and then come back to Gourmet-Delights.com to get the newest, freshest batch when you are almost out. We will both be happier because you will have the freshest and tastiest ingredients always at your fingertips.
Some items on the website do list "on sale"... and you might ask what’s that about. Simply, that is the price the majority of my competitors are selling that same item for. It gives you some idea that while they will charge $32 for Truffle & Salt (and they charge you shipping on top of that), my $21.95 price (with free shipping) is incredibly reasonable and "on sale". The difference is the "sale" is EVERY SINGLE DAY. Buy with confidence and know you are getting prices 15%, 20%, 25%, or more off what everyone else is charging. And you can buy at those prices every single day.
