This organic black rice was developed from an ancient Chinese varietal sometimes called Forbidden Rice, as for centuries it was cultivated for the exclusive enjoyment of the Chinese Emperor. Seggiano invests in quality ingredients with provenance and traceability, organic methods, local cultivar preservation and minimum-intervention agriculture. We avoid industrial and blended ingredients, preferring single source and mono-varietal ingredients which connect food to its terroir and guarantee provenance.
