Our Organic Heirloom Long Peppercorns are shade grown in Bali and hand-harvested in the monsoon forest.
With delicious notes of cardamom, nutmeg, and a hint of chocolate aroma, this highly prized heirloom is exquisite when ground heavily in melted garlic butter as a dip for steamed artichokes, and it works beautifully to bring out flavors in fish, game, and vegetable grills. It is heavenly in the most delicate sauces, soups, stews, and for flavoring clear broth.
Sustainably grown and harvested, our heirloom crops help to preserve the threatened regional biodiversity and traditional cultures of Indonesia, and are certified organic, kosher, and green-e. 5% of profits go to the environment and source community.
We recommend a mortar and pestle, or a spice grinder for these. The long peppercorns are very hard, so a normal pepper mill, while somewhat effective, is not great. The flavor in your meal is worth the extra effort!
