Rillettes are made by cubing delicate meats, salting them, and then slowly cooking them in fat until they are tender enough to be easily shredded. They are then cooled with a small amount of fat in order to form a paste which can then be spread on bread, toast, or crackers.
Fully cooked, ready to eat.
Refrigerate before opening.
Serve chilled but not ice cold.
Use a knife to serve spreadable portions.
Serve on baguette or toast.
